Me
I’m Jared, the person behind Calypso Studios. I started in music, playing guitar in a metal band around Milwaukee before moving into solo music, beat production, recording, and audio engineering. I earned an Associate Degree in Audio Production and an Engineering Certificate from Milwaukee Area Technical College, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Arizona State University. Since then, my work has expanded into video editing, audio production, writing, and post-production, including published work for Visionary Marketing and Impulse Cameras.
What I enjoy most is taking something raw and turning it into a finished product. I like figuring out what’s worth keeping, what needs work, and what can be left out. I care about storytelling, pacing, sound, and the details that make something work, but I also want to be someone a client can trust with a project. Give me the goal and the parameters, and I’ll ask the questions I need to and take it from there.
Calypso is where I bring all of that together. It’s a place to build a business around the creative work I enjoy while helping other people get their projects finished and out into the world. Outside of work, I live and travel in a bus I built with my girlfriend and our two cats, spending a lot of time exploring nature, learning about birds, and recording the world around us. Eventually, I want Calypso to grow into a workspace for creating, experimenting, and sharing what I learn along the way.
